Each day moves students from observer to builder to founder — structured to develop both the design mindset and the entrepreneurial instinct to execute.
Discovery & The Landscape
Introduction to Design Thinking as systems thinking — beyond objects to services and systems. A guided architectural walk of the IITH Knowledge Well Library. Students create large-scale “Ecology Maps” of a real local challenge such as Hyderabad’s multi-modal transport or urban waste cycles.
Empathy & The Human Pulse
The IDEO Human-Centred Design method in practice. Deep Dive interviews and extreme user observation. Visual research using photography as a primary tool. Converting raw observations into User Stories and “How Might We” design prompts.
Prototyping & Systemic Stress Test
“Thinking with Hands.” Build Low-Fi models — paper, clay, or digital wireframes — in the IITH Design Labs. Test the prototype against the Day 1 System Map. If we solve this for the user, does it create a new problem for the city or environment? Iterate based on systemic feedback.
Industry Immersion — Hyderabad Product Hub
A curated day inside Hyderabad’s live innovation ecosystem. A visit to a global product giant to see Design Systems at scale. Then a session at T-Hub — India’s largest startup incubator — to observe how design thinking is applied in the high-pressure world of Indian startups.
Studio Visit & The Grand Jury
Begin with an immersive visit to the IITH Photography and VR Labs — exploring the future of digital preservation and advanced visual design. Then: The Grand Pitch. Teams present their complete system-solution to a jury of industry leaders and IIT Hyderabad faculty, in a real innovation environment, judged to real startup standards. Closing ceremony and certificate distribution follow.
